Keola Beamer with Native School Children in Sikkim, India

We’ve recently returned from India where we conducted our Mele Pono ʻUkulele program. We taught 40 under-resourced children how to play the instrument and gave them 40 ʻukulele so they could acculturate the instrument and learn to play their own music. Essentially, we provided musical tools to explore their own culture. It was an amazing experience and myself and our kumu (Jeff Peterson, Tom Luneberg, Jeff Cook, Moanalani Beamer) all enjoyed working with the students of EMRS, Gangyap, Tsahiding. This program was sponsored by Aloha Music Camp and our generous friends at Kala. Mahalo nui to our lead instructor – Jeff Peterson, Kala Ukulele, Dr. Thomas Vendetti, Shan Dan Horan and our generous donors. Thank you for sharing the Aloha.

I’ve returned to Maui after a great tour with my awesome friend, Henry Kapono. So happy that all went according to plan and all tour personnel returned home happy and healthy. We’re so blessed with a great team, their excellent support with aloha enlightened every day on the road. I want to send a special mahalo nui to our tour managers, Ben Crew & Haumea Ho, and to our wives Lezlee and Moanalani. Its always a blast working with Henry Kapono. I’m so grateful for our enduring friendship.

Moanalani and I are really looking forward to spending about a week on the Island Of Kauai for our Aloha Music Camp, which starts April 3, 2022 at the Sheraton Kaua’i Coconut Beach Resort. I cant wait to see our haumana (students), friends and fans. If you’re on hanging loose on Kaua’i, come by and check it out!

with Aloha,

Keola Beamer
