Introduction

With sincere aloha for the place and composer, I gave this waltz for the Valley Isle by the wonderful O’ahu pianist Bob Nelson a new arrangement for kī hōʻalu. Robert Edward Lin Nelson (November 26, 1934 – May 8, 2015) was a Hawaiian songwriter, composer, pianist, and singer. He was best known for his most popular songs, “Hanalei Moon” and “Maui Waltz”.

I’ve been a great admirer of Bob’s work for a lot of years. His songs are really well crafted.
